The Footwear of the Gods

Talaria is the name of the winged sandals worn and relied upon by the gods and goddesses of ancient Greece and Rome - most notably, Mercury (AKA Hermes). The sandals were a gift from Zeus and were said to be made of imperishable gold. Talaria helped the gods fly as swiftly as any bird, and carried them on journeys with abundance and great blessings.
